Welcome to standing pose basics! This bundle will guide you through the alignment and refinement of level 1 standing poses. You will learn about the muscles you need to activate, the muscles you need to stretch and how to best communicate with your body to find grace and ease in these beautiful and powerful poses. Enjoy!

*Suggested props: 2 blocks and 1 strap

Lunges, Warrior 1

This 40 minute class takes you through the basic alignment and refinement for low lunge, high lunge and warrior 1. These internally rotated standing poses require spaciousness through the external rotators and openness through the posterior chain of the back leg.

Warrior Variations

This 40 minute class takes you through the basic alignment and refinement for warrior 2, exalted warrior and side angle pose. These externally rotated standing poses require spaciousness through the adductor group and openness through the medial lines of the legs. You will keep your core engaged in order to facilitate a safe side stretch in this class.

Triangle and Half Moon

This 40 minute class takes you through the basic alignment and refinement for triangle and half moon pose. These externally rotated standing poses require spaciousness through the adductor group and openness through the posterior chain. You will keep your core engaged as you move from triangle to half moon using a block to support you.

Pyramid Variations

This 40 minute class takes you through the basic alignment and refinement for pyramid and revolved triangle pose. These internally rotated standing poses require spaciousness through the abductor group and the posterior chain. You will keep your core engaged to support the thoracic rotation necessary for revolved triangle.

Tree and Eagle poses

This 40 minute class takes you through the basic alignment and refinement for tree pose and eagle pose. These standing balance poses require balance and coordination. We will review poses from the previous classes in this bundle and build them into a small flow. In the balance poses you will keep your core engaged as you move slowly and deliberately.

Warrior 3 and Dancer’s pose

This 40 minute class takes you through the basic alignment and refinement for warrior 3 and dancer’s pose. These standing balance poses require balance and coordination. We will review poses from the previous classes in this bundle and build them into a flow. In the balance poses you will keep your core engaged as you move slowly and deliberately.
